14 POWDER COATING, April 2016 U ltraviolet and electron beam processes (UV+EB) are becom- ing vital solutions in the growth of next-generation fabrication, finishing, protection, and adhesion technologies for a wide range of applications. RadTech International North America, the nonprofit association for the advancement of UV+EB technology, has announced that 15th biennial event dedicated to this rapidly emerging field. RadTech UV+EB Technology Expo and Conference 2016 will be held May 16-18 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Chicago, Ill. The 3-day conference and expo is the world's largest UV and EB event, mak- ing it a must for anyone involved in these technologies. The conference and exhibition are dedicated to fostering ed- ucation, technical, and scientific ad- vancement in the manufacture and use o f U V a n d E B c u r a b l e p r o d u c t s . UV+EB curing offers energy efficiency, increased return on investment, higher quality products, and lower greenhouse gas and VOC emissions. Talk to the ex- perts and meet the leading industry sup- pliers on the trade show floor. Education The educational programming for the show will consist of technical sessions, short courses, and panel discussions. Leading industrial and consumer prod- uct companies as well as suppliers to the UV and EB industry will be presenting various industry sessions focused on so- lutions offered by these technologies as well as practical applications. Academic educational opportunities are also avail- able in the form of undergraduate and graduate level polymer chemistry courses and a course on designing ex- periments. Sessions will focus on UV-cured pow- der coating, high-performance coat- ings, waterborne coatings, field-applied coatings, advanced coating applica- tions, and more. Session topics will in- clude: Introduction to the Basics of UV/EB Curing, UV Additive Manu- facturing of Polymer Derived Ceram- ics, Advanced Technology for UV Wood Applications, Determination of the Surface Energy for UV-Curable Easy Release Coatings, Surface Energy: An Applied Experimental Design for Novel UV-Curable Coatings, and In- novative Water-Based UV Resins for Exterior Applications. In addition, a full-day conference will be held dedi- cated to 3D printing. SHOW PREVIEW RadTech's biennial show blows back into Chicago The world's largest event dedicated to the educational, technical, and scientific advancement of UV and EB technologies will highlight how these technologies enable sustainable and flexible manufacturing.
