The most successful baseball coach in Memphis history, Bobby Kilpatrick remains the program's all-time wins leader with 653 in 21 seasons, more than any other coach at the school. Thirty-three former Tigers were draſted during Coach K's time at the helm, and he also oversaw the program's first back- to-back 30-win seasons, as well as the U of M's first 40-win campaign (1978) and berths in the NCAA Regionals in 1976, 1978 and 1981. Aſter his coaching career, Kilpatrick remained heavily involved in Memphis sports as Special Events Coordinator and Spring Sports Coordinator.
