Tablets & Capsules September 2016 31 Tablet press C series tablet presses use computerized compaction force control that monitors and regulates pre- and main compression and ejection force to provide automatic weight control. Unit comes with three-paddle feeder; special feeder for handling MUPS dosage forms is optional. Presses include single-sided C-100 and C-200 presses and double-sided C-300 press. All include high-speed, interchangeable tur- rets, and pre- and main compression stations that handle difficult-to-compress for- mulations. C-300 (photo) unit produces as many as 758,400 tablets per hour and accepts D, B, BB, and BBS tooling. CMC Machinery, Princeton, NJ. Tel. 609 720 9800 www.cadmachamerica.com Benchtop compaction analyzer D series instrument comprises benchtop powder compaction analyzer (PCA) and table tensile analyzer (TTA). PCA con- tinuously measures in-die force displace- ment to understand compaction dynam- ics in real time, generating 3D profile of yield stress and Young's Modulus of pow- der bed during compaction. You can set post-compaction dwell times to last 90 milliseconds to 60 seconds. Instrument's rotating die platform allows you to auto- matically measure tablet detachment force to assess "stickiness" before measur- ing tablet ejection force. TTA module measures out-of-die tablet weight, thick- ness, diameter, and tensile strength to compare compactibility, compressibility, and tabletability of alternative solid-state formulations and how processing affects each. Like company's other presses, it features dust-free exchangeable compression module that contains turret, tools, and all product-contact parts. Module removes in 15 minutes and elim- inates need for machine cleaning, and new module installs in 15 minutes, reducing changeover time. Other features include adjustable dwell time at pre- and main compression, exchangeable die disc, and OEE monitoring. GEA, Columbia, MD. Tel. 844 432 2329 www.gea.com
