Reed-Lane adds bottling line to NJ facility WAYNE, NJ—Reed-Lane, a phar- maceutical contract packager installed a sixth bottling line to package solid dosage products. The line comprises a bottle unscrambler, slat filler, metal detector, capper, induction sealer, re- torquer, labeler, and topsert feeder. Thermo Fisher opens clinical supply site in South Korea SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA— Thermo Fisher Scientific opened a GMP-compliant facility here that will offer clinical supplies to pharmaceutical and biotech companies. The site includes GMP storage, labelling, sec- ondary packaging, comparator sourc- ing, and handling/distribution of ambi- ent and cold chain supplies. Klöckner Pentaplast acquires Farmamak GEBZE, TURKEY—Klöckner Pentaplast, a producer of rigid film for the pharmaceutical, medical, and food industries, plans to acquire Farmamak, packaging company located here, from Gözde Girişim. It would be Klöckner's first acquisition since 2011. Metrics to add stability storage facility to Greenville site GREENVILLE, NC—Metrics Con- tract Services, a pharmaceutical CDMO, will add a 15,000-square-foot stability storage facility to its site here, tripling its capacity for the service. The facility is expected to open in spring 2017. ACG receives ExciPact certification DAHANU, INDIA—ACG Worldwide's capsule manufacturing business, ACG ACPL, became the first Asian company to receive ExciPact cer- tification, which provides independent validation that the site complies with GMP and EU regulations. Systech opens office in India MUMBAI, INDIA—Systech, Prin- ceton, NJ, opened an office here. The company provides serialization, traceabil- ity, and brand protection technologies. 48 October 2016 Tablets & Capsules Mettler-Toledo to move inspection division to new facility TAMPA, FL—Mettler-Toledo's product inspection division will build a facility 15 miles north of its Safeline metal detection and x-ray inspection business located here. The company expects to complete the facility in late 2017. The company also plans to relo- cate its Hi-Speed checkweighing busi- ness from Ithaca, NY, to the new site in 2018. Grace expands in Albany ALBANY, OR—W.R. Grace, Columbia, MD, opened a GMP- release/quality control lab at its fine chemicals manufacturing facility here. The addition allows the site to validate analytical methods and perform GMP release of starting materials and advanced intermediates. The lab's instruments include HPLC, UPLC, GC-MS, and GC-MS with head space analyzer.
