"We're all family," says Patel. "My wife and I own and run the businesses, but we treat all of our employees as family. ƒis helps our staff feel comfortable at work, which also makes for a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our customers. So they feel like family too, especially those who come back to us all the time." Patel graciously includes the local Redstone Federal Credit Union branch team in his family circle. "Everyone at our Guntersville branch has been so helpful with everything! From our business loan, to getting an auto loan for our daughter, they are always very efficient," he says. Based on a business associate's recommendation, Patel approached Redstone about a loan to purchase what is now Lakeview Tackle & Grocery. He didn't have to wait long to hear about the loan decision, which is why he loves working with Neil Carville, Business Loan Underwriting Manager, and Patrick Pearson, Business Lending Development Officer. Patel appreciates the professional and helpful guidance he receives from Pearson. He gets personal visits to potential projects, quick and ready information about the Credit Union, as well as speedy loan decisions. "Redstone Federal Credit Union is the perfect size," Patel says. "Small enough to make fast decisions and large enough to offer great services. But what I really love about Redstone is how friendly everyone is." For someone in the hospitality business, that's an important thing. 14 | r e d f c u.o r g S M A L L B U S I N E SS S P O T L I G H T Mike Patel is in the business of hospitality.
