BUSINESS DE VELOPMENT OFFICERS: North AL and Fayetteville, TN T. LeJuan George lgeorge@redfcu.org Kasie Tanley ktanley@redfcu.org Murfreesboro, TN Lori Cutler lcutler@redfcu.org Bunni Wheeler, Senior Business Operations Coordinator for Asahi Kasei Plastics, decided to step outside of her comfort zone and say "yes'' to serving as chair of the Greater Limestone County Chamber of Commerce. As she takes the helm, Bunni is excited about how much more she can do for the community she has grown to love. r e d f c u.o r g | 15 M E M B E RS H I P Member's Moment: Q: How long have you lived in Athens? What makes it special to you? A. I have lived in Athens for 10 years. I love its sense of community. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful. I remember when my husband and I moved into our home, all of our neighbors came over to welcome us with friendly gestures and tasty treats. ƒose small gestures mean a lot. Q: As the incoming chair of the Chamber of Commerce, what are the top two things on your "to do" list? A. • Work with the board to complete the building project of the new Chamber offices by soliciting businesses to partner with us and donate to this endeavor • Expand our current events while continuing to work toward workforce development in Limestone County to ensure that as we grow, our community is ready to take on the jobs that will become available Q: You have an unusual first name – is there a special story around it? A. My father named me. He prayed that he would have a daughter. One day at Bible study, one of his friends asked him if he had a girl, what would he name her. He said he looked down and saw Bunni in Nehemiah. ƒat is not how it is pronounced, but he said that is what came to mind when he saw it. Q: What was the last book you read? A. I am currently reading "Year of Yes" by Shonda Rhimes. It's about her deciding to step outside of her comfort zone and take on new challenges. I am enjoying this book as I, too, am at this same stage of my life. My decision to take on the position of Chamber chair is one of those "yes" moments. If you would like to appear in the Member's Moment column, just send your name and an interesting tidbit about yourself to aspire@redfcu.org.
