2010 review fallUNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS | 30 | 2011 TIGER TENNIS EXPERIENCE Tiger tennis accumulated two singles crowns, and one doubles, during fall action, in addition to making several appearances in draw finals. Memphis opened the fall tournament schedule at the Southern Intercollegiates, where freshmen Joe Salisbury and David O’Hare defeated pairs from South Carolina, Mercer and Winthrop en route to the final eight of the flight. Fellow freshman Cedric De Zutter also climbed to his draw quarterfinals in singles. The following weekend, at the UTC Steve Baras Classic, De Zutter made another inspired trek to the draw finals, along with Johnny Grimal, who took the top singles flight for his first crown as a Tiger netter. More titles were collected at the Louisville Winter Invitational, where senior John Taylor won the top singles flight, the first of his career, and teamed up with Grimal for the doubles championship in an epic 9-8 (7-5) final against opponents from Drake. The Tigers ended the fall slate at the Crimson Tide Fall Championships with multiple quarterfinal appearances, giving the U of M confidence heading into the spring season.
