Hornsey Named All-American 2010 Review

Punter Tom Hornsey was named to the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) Freshman All-American Team. Hornsey is Memphis' first-ever FWAA Freshman All-American in the 10 years that the organization has selected a freshman squad. He was also one of just two freshmen to receive national recognition by the FWAA for Conference USA. The other was Tulsa safety Marco Nelson. A native of Australia, Hornsey was playing in his first-ever American football games in 2010. He ranked third nationally in yards punted (3,416) and fourth nationally in total punts (80). He ranked fourth in C-USA with his 42.7 punting average, and was one of two true freshmen on 2010 Ray Guy Watch List.
