The Black History Museum of Corinth features a vast permanent collection of items documenting the area's history. Collections include tributes to Corinth's first African-American mayor, E. S. Bishop, entertainers such as opera singer, Ruby Elzy, locally and nationally known sports figures, African art, and arti- facts from local historically black church congregations and former segregated schools. A mainstay of Downtown Corinth is the Corinth Coli- seum Civic Center, a National Historic Register site. With its origins in the Vaudevillian performances, the Coli- seum is home to a 999-seat theatre and is decorated with ornate plaster, white marble wainscoting, and a grand stair- case. The Coliseum is used for community performances throughout the year and during the winter months hosts the weekly Thursday evening Pickin' on the Square. A little farther off the beaten path is the Jacinto Court- house, an impressive example of Federal-style architecture, which served as the seat of government for Old Tishom- ingo County in the 1800s. The grounds of the Courthouse include a park with RV hook-ups, natural springs and a swinging bridge, an old-country store with souvenirs and hand-dipped ice cream. During the Fourth of July each year, Jacinto comes alive once again with the second largest political forum in the State. Other points of interest in Alcorn County include the Lake Hill Motors Museum, located inside of one of America's largest motorcycle/ATV dealerships. It is home to a collec- tion of antique classic and custom motorcycles. Also Little Creek Ranch is a favorite stop, which has an Old West setting and camp sites. The Circle Y Equestrian Center is another must visit attraction with its seasonal pumpkin patch, petting zoo, and putt putt golf. Lastly, the Corinth Artist Guild Gallery, home to the works of local artists featuring special exhibitions on a monthly basis, is a great stop for shopping and browsing. Art classes for the public are also held periodically at the Gallery.
