In addition, SSPC will be offering more than 30 training courses at the show to help train all coating professionals, in- cluding blasters and painters, inspectors, consultants, engineers, and facility own- ers. You must register for the courses separately from the conference. Avail- able courses include: Abrasive Blasting Program (C7); Basics of Estimating In- dustrial Coatings Projects (EST); Coat- ing Application Specialist Certification Program (CAS); Fundamentals of Pro- tective Coatings (C1); and Protective Coatings Inspector Program (PCI). Special events SSPC 2018 will feature a variety of special events, including a Welcome Reception on Monday night, an Ex- hibit Hall Reception on Tuesday night, and complimentary lunch with e x h i b i t o r s i n t h e e x h i b i t h a l l o n Wednesday and Thursday. The Annual Meeting and Awards Lunch will be held on Monday, January 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Join the association's leaders and board members as well as your peers as the 2018 award recipients are honored. Awards will be presented for outstand- ing achievment demonstrating aesthetic merit in industrial coatings work, out- standing industrial or commercial pro- ject demonstrating longevity of the original coating, extraordinary contri- bution and long-term activity on behalf of SSPC, and more. The Coating Inspectors' Forum will be held on Wednesday afternoon. This year's forum will engage the audience in a conversation about issues impact- ing inspectors. The interactive format will pose a series of situations for discus- sion and allow the audience to debate the appropriate response of an inspec- tor. The situations will encompass vi- sual inspections, use of digital equip- ment, and inspection planning. In addition, more than 30 technical committee meetings will take place dur- ing the show. SSPC strongly encour- ages member participation in the work of these committees. Attending these meetings will provide an opportunity to discuss progress related to the develop- ment of standards, technical guidelines, and more. PC Show information Location. SSPC 2018 will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Con- vention Center, 900 Convention Center Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70130. The freshly renovated cen- ter is located just steps away from the world-famous attractions of the French Quarter. Hotel. The official headquarters hotel for the show is the New Orleans Downtown Marriott at the Conven- tion Center. SSPC has secured a block of rooms at this hotel, and group rates are available until Decem- ber 20, 2017.
