Spilker, and Diane Isaacs Spilker contrib- uted to the founding gifts. n Oklahoma State Univer- sity's capital campaign to raise US$1 billion has now topped $900 million with several recent gifts made to the Stillwater school. One gift includes cash, pledges, and an estate commitment from Chuck and Kim Watson that, when combined with matching gifts, will have a total impact of $36 million. The money will help build the new home for the Spears School of Busi- ness and create the Watson Graduate School of Manage- ment in honor of the OSU alumni. In addition, Malone and Amy Mitchell recently commit- ted $7.5 million to create the new home for the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship, and n The University of Mis- souri-Kansas City and the UMKC Foundation have received a US$3 million gift from the Regnier Family Foun- dations to endow the Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, housed in the Henry W. Bloch School of Management. n The Berkeley Center for Green Chemistry at the University of California in Berkeley has been awarded a US$3.4 million training grant by the National Science Foun- Berkeley's School of Public Health, College of Chemis- try, and College of Natural Sciences. OTHER NEWS n The Albers School of Busi- ness and Economics at Seattle University in Washington has established the Howard J. Board composed of alumni living or working in the region. n In September, the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management opened its new expansion building, designed by Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects. The nine- story-high expansion, which is integrated with the school's existing property and is target- ing LEED silver certification, doubles the school's teaching, research, study, presentation, and special event space. Bosanko Endowed Professor- ship in International Economics and Finance. Funded by the estate of Helen L. Bosanko, the three-year-term professorship was created in honor of her late husband, an alum. n The Tuck School of Busi- ness at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, is increasing its commitment to Latin America by creating a Latin American Advisory dation. The grant will train five to six PhD students annually for five years in the principles of green chemistry and the design of clean energy technologies. Students will be recruited from the Haas School of Business as well as n The Leeds School of Busi- ness at the University of Colorado Boulder is introduc- ing a new daylong freshman orientation program called "CoLab: Essentials of Col- laboration and Innovation." During the orientation, approx- imately 750 students will compete in teams under the guidance of faculty, alumni, and corporate sponsors that include IBM, ConocoPhil- lips, and Western Union. The activities are designed to help incoming freshmen learn busi- ness essentials such as team- work, interpersonal com- munication, strategy, and innovation.
