Thank You The governing board of Kirby Medical Center thanks Bill Tracy for eight years of leadership and suppor t of the hospital and congratulates him on his retirement from the board. Kirby Medical Center was created in 1941 by a charitable gi from the Kirby family. We are a not-for- profit organization that does not have stockholders. However, we do have stakeholders – individuals or groups who benefit from the hospital's qualit y ser vices. A hospital's stakeholders can include its patients, families and the communit y. Stakeholders also include employees, physicians, businesses and other communit y healthcare providers, all of which have an interest in seeing the hospital succeed. The Board of Directors of Kirby Medical Center is made up of a group of dedicated stakeholders committed to governing the hospital the Kirby family gave to Piatt Count y. The governing board's responsibilities include setting and monitoring the strategic direction of Kirby Medical Center, adopting broad policy, overseeing the chief executive officer's operation of the hospital and continually evaluating the hospital's per formance.
