Kirby Medical Center and
IMPACT Coalition Host First Annual
First Responders Breakfast
The IMPACT Coalition is a group of communit y members working to build communit y
collaboration and prevent youth substance misuse. Recently, IMPACT Coalition
joined forces with Kirby Medical Center to host the first annual First Responders
Breakfast. This event honored those who continually keep our communit y safe,
making sacrifices and setting a positive example for our youth.
The event was held at Kirby Medical Center, and Apple a Day Café catered a delicious
breakfast. We were able to provide 40 local first responders with breakfast and a gi
cour tesy of Willow Tree Missions.
IMPACT looks for ward to working with the communit y in 2020 and beyond.
Kirby Adds New Education Room
Located conveniently in the hospital, KMC added a new education room dedicated to
employee training. The new room hosts a variet y of events, including:
• Computer training
• New-employee orientation
• Staff EMS training
• Webinars
• Annual sur vey completion
Additionally, the new room is used for EMS training sessions for local first responders.
The EMS training room houses training equipment for all patient care staff in EMS
and nursing. Classes offered include in-house Advanced Cardiac Life Suppor t and
Pediatric Advanced Life Suppor t.
