Kirby Derby Each spring, Kirby Medical Center sponsors the Kirby Derby – a 5K walk/ run and 10K run for community members who want to get out and get active. As it is every year, 2019's event was a great success! 750 runners participated in our 12th annual Kirby Derby on May 11. Many volunteers and sponsors helped make the event possible, and we are grateful for their continued support. The 2019 Kirby Derby proceeds – $4,000 – are benefiting the Light the Way funding initiative and adding additional landscaping to our Wellness Trail. Sage City Triathlon Kirby Medical Center hosted the 4th annual KMC Sage Cit y Triathlon on Saturday, August 10. The triathlon consisted of a 300-meter swim, 13.5-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run.
