Celebrating a Giving Spirit Most would expect a soon-to-be 8-year-old girl to ask for toys for her bir thday. However, Blakely Conner generously asked for items to fill hospital sur vival kits instead of gi s. She organized the donation items herself, divided the items equally and filled seven boxes with all sor ts of goodies. The kits were filled with ever ything from activit y books and magazines to hygiene products, packs of gum and mints. We are so thankful for Blakely and admire her giving spirit! Kirby at Froyo Factory Last July, the Kirby Ambulance team kept things sweet and safe by offering CPR training, first aid training courses and ambulance tours at Froyo Factor y. Attendees enjoyed frozen yogur t while learning valuable skills! A Grinchy Good Time Over 60 communit y members joined the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who for breakfast and cra ing in our communit y outreach room last December. Ever yone had so much fun making holiday cra s to take home, as well as ornaments for our patients spending Christmas at Kirby. The Grinch also made a special visit to ever y depar tment. B U I L D I N G A Healthy Community Stronger Than Cancer The inaugural Stronger Than Cancer event was hosted last October in KMC's Therapy Garden. From a porkchop dinner and live music to a bounce house and caricature drawings, communit y members par took in many fun events, all of which helped raise funds for the Piatt Count y American Cancer Societ y. Although the rain cut our event shor t, over $11,000 was raised! 12
