The National Professional Agri- cultural Student Organization (PAS), St. Louis Park, MN, is a stu- dent-led organization that uses competitive-style learning and real-life application to create skilled professional members prepared to work in all areas of the agricultural industry. The agreement allows PAS members to become student members of GEAPS and engage in training programs and networking opportunities to launch successful careers in the agriculture indus- try. GEAPS members are invited to engage in PAS programs, including judging student competitions. ASTM International develops new additive manufacturing standard ASTM International's Additive Manufacturing Technologies Committee (F42) is developing a standard that could help assess the quality of additively manufac- tured parts and performance of laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) machines. The committee has 725 members with eight technical sub- committees. All standards that the committee develops are published in the Annual Book of ASTM Stan- dards. The committee meets twice a year to attend technical meetings. The standard being formu- lated would use off-the-shelf tools to quickly generate qualitative data related to dimensional accu- racy and material strength, both of which can indicate machine status and part quality. The com- mittee welcomes representatives of industries, universities, and research facilities that work in additive manufacturing (AM) tech- nology to participate in upcoming round-robin experiments to test the standard. The agree- ment allows MANRRS members to join GEAPS and engage in training programs and networking opportu- nities. GEAPS notes that many of its members report that they have trou- ble recruiting and retaining talent, so the partnership will add more pro- spective underrepresented student candidates who are interested in the agricultural industry. Student mem- bers of MANRRS can join GEAPS for free and receive discounted rates for professional development programs and free admissions to GEAPS events. The company is headquartered in Charlotte, NC, and specializes in lithium, bromine, and refining catalysts for the energy, commu- nications, transportation, and electronics industries. The company employs 5,400 people and serves cli- ents in about 100 countries. Agrana expands organic, non-GMO starch distribution with acquisition Agrana, Vienna, Austria, a fruit, starch, and sugar food company, is expanding its distribution in the starch segment of the food industry. Agrana has acquired Marroquin Organic International Inc., Santa Cruz, CA, a distributor of organic and non-GMO ingredients that include milk powders, maltodextrin, potato starch, and others.
