Lonza to invest $93 million in CHI division BASEL, Switzerland—Lonza will invest $93 million in its Capsules and Health Ingredients (CHI) division, allowing the company to expand its capsule production capacity by 30 billion capsules per year. The investment will help to meet grow- ing demand for the division's gelatin, vegetarian, and specialty polymers portfolio as well as its liquid-filled hard capsules sold under the Licaps brand. The two-year investment will occur across the company's global manufacturing and supply chain net- work, including manufacturing sites in the US, Belgium, France, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Japan, and China. Gattefossé announces plans for Texas manufacturing plant LYON, France—Gattefossé has announced plans to invest €30 mil- lion in its industrial operations and build a new manufacturing plant in Lufkin, Texas. The plant will pro- duce lipid-based specialty ingredients for the personal care and pharmaceu- tical industries to increase the com- pany's global production capacity, deepen its presence in North Amer- ica, and improve supply flexibility. Natoli Engineering has hired Gerardo Zuniga as a West Coast service technician at its Southern California technical center and Danny Yadram Chandarballi as a Northeast service technician at its Long Island technical center. Both have over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. The company has also hired Jeff Var- ner as technical support represen- tative for its Carlisle Encapsulation division. Varner will support cus- tomers' with encapsulation machine health checks, repairs, rebuilds, troubleshooting, and annual cali- brations, as well as onsite change kit installations, operator training, and machine setups.
