Tablets & Capsules Advertisement January/February 2021 49 Fette Compacting America, Inc. 400 Forge Way Rockaway, NJ 07866 USA Email: sales@fetteamerica.com Phone: 973-586-8722 www.fette-compacting-america.com Another key feature of the FEC20 is the human-machine interface (HMI) with 19-inch touchscreen, which uti- lizes an integrated keyboard and com- prehensive user guidance. Set-up is recipe-controlled: saved settings are automatically selected from the on-board database, eliminating the need for cumbersome mechanical intervention. Database architecture is based on the same engineering princi- ples used by Fette Compacting in its FE-series tablet presses. The FEC20's highly intuitive user inter- face offers a real-time overview of all relevant process and quality parame- ters, and its software automatically runs consistency checks for each recipe entry made by the operator. The system continuously measures the fill levels of all capsule and product containers during a batch, and displays graphical representations on-screen. Batch data is seamlessly monitored, logged and saved. A user-configurable rights management system ensures system security. Pervading the FEC20 design is Fette Compacting's TRI.EASY engineering philosophy. Prioritizing maximally effi- cient changeover, operation and main- tenance, users can enjoy productivity, yields and utilization previously thought unattainable. The concept guarantees 360° access, even with process equip- ment connected. The interior is com- pletely uncluttered, resulting in unob- structed visual and manual access to all corners of the machine. Efficiency. Speed. Quality. Safety. The FEC20. Fette Compacting FEC20 High-speed Capsule-filling Machine In June 2018, Fette Compacting presented its second capsule-filling machine, the FEC20. Leveraging the novel features first revealed on its ground-breaking larger sibling, the FEC40, the engineers designed the FEC20 specifically for medium-range campaigns of up to 200,000 capsules per hour. The FEC20 can be used for both powder and pellets. Switching between formats is incredibly easy, and in the case of running powders the tamping pin station can be removed in less than ten minutes. A simple exchange system, derived from Fette Compacting's established tablet press technology, ensures speedy changeovers when going from one product, or dosing method, to the next. The integrated systems for controlling the capsule feed (Capsule Flow Control), the capsule separation (Capsule Separation Control) and the capsule closing (Capsule Closing Control) guarantee trouble-free operation of the machine. Users who own both the FEC20 and FEC40 will benefit from the fact that both models share a large number of key components, including format parts. The FEC20 provides maximal efficiency in large part thanks to its innova- tive drive concept. Each machine movement is controlled by individual servo and torque motors, allowing the user to control previously coupled process steps independently. The user can adapt individual movements to the product properties during ongoing production, without having to stop the machine.
