Martin Pohlman of Caledonia, Minn., wrote in regarding the Q&A in the Winter 2026 edition of Old Allis News, on Page 58: "I noticed a pair of nice, original CA's. Matt, the owner, wrote about them having a 'B' scratched in the paint on the fender and (they) were built in 1952. My wife Brenda's CA is a wide-front 1952, like the one closest in the picture. I thought I should check for a 'B' on the fender. The tractor is re-painted, so I didn't expect to find anything. With the help of a flashlight, I noticed a "B" on the clutch pedal side rear of the fender. The "B" was covered with paint, but I could see the scratch's indent. "The tractor's Serial No. is 15649. My cousin's CA is a wide-front 1952, Serial No. 15490 -- only 159 apart. The fender has rust on the back of the clutch side fender, possibly from the scratching of a 'B' in the paint and sitting outside. I can't prove it had one, but I think it did. The worker that scratched in the 'B' could have gotten in trouble for doing it." Scott Trochman of Santa Barbara, Calif., visits his farm in Minnesota for three weeks every year and writes: "The hardest part recently is keeping my seven Allis tractors running. Am having the third injection pump rebuilt in the last five years. Any suggestions to help with that would be appreciated."
