Teaming up for taters Photos by Heidi Clausen Russell Mauder employed an Allis-Chalmers "B" equipped with potato digger to open up a couple rows of soil for eager potato pickers during the Gathering of the Orange in Penfield, Ill. Pickers moved into the rows right behind the tractor to bag their harvest. Among them were the Repking siblings — from left, Alfie, 8; Della, 10; and Oscar, 5 — who bagged up their fair share of potatoes and had the dirty hands to show for their effort. Rich Bergeson of Ransom, Ill., brought a trio of unique 220 FWA tractors, at left. From left are the first FWA sold, the first test model with production axle and the first test front axle. Many families, including the Millers, made numerous trips to the grounds in order to create some impressive A-C displays, right. The RL-451 loader at left was part of Ben Brouillette' s display. The McGee Bros., Longview, Ill., brought the 1982 8050 at right, with the original purchase order. Their grandfather bought the tractor new in Arcola, Ill. 31 OLD ALLIS NEWS
