He was born Oct. 14, 1940. His parents were Paul and Letha Zee. Zee was a lifelong farmer, farming for more than 65 years. He loved traveling to farm shows around the country and set a new world's record at the National Corn Picking Championship in October 1963 by driving an Allis-Chalmers Model 170 two-row corn picker to score 97.70 out of 100 under brittle, dry field conditions. He was also a pilot for about 50 years. He was a member of the Wisconsin Flying Farmers. He also really enjoyed riding in his Polaris Ranger around the countryside. Zee is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bonnie Zee; daughters Wendy (David) Runkle and Cherie (Richard) Boss; grandchildren Elizabeth (Dan) Niemeier, Boomer (Katie) Detra, Gabrielle Boss and Owen Boss; great-grandchildren RaeLynn Niemeier, Diesel Niemeier, Lydia Detra and Layla Detra; and sister Shirley (David) Davies-Morris. Visitation was held Jan. 15 at the DL Newcomer Funeral Home. Services were Jan. 16 at the United Methodist Church in Albany, Wis. Burial was at the Gap Church Cemetery. Steve Sievers, 85, of Bridgewater, S.D., passed away at his home July 28 under hospice care. A Celebration of Life service was Aug. 1 at the Bridgewater Firehall. Steven Bruce Sievers was born Nov. 04, 1940, to George Arthur (Abe) Sievers and Ima Sievers in Sioux Falls, S.D., at Sioux Valley Hospital. He was the second child of four. He lived in Bridgewater all his life and graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1958. He was employed by a construction company and spent the summer building grain elevators. He attended South Dakota State University for a short time and then began working with his dad at Sievers Sales and Service in Bridgewater. He married Marjorie Hofer of Dolton in September 1961. He was involved in many organizations including Jaycees, Shriners, Jesters, Masons, Bridgewater Fire Department (chief) and city council (mayor), and was founding member of the Rural Fire District. He continued working well into his 80s. It was not uncommon for him to rebuild a hydraulic pump on the kitchen table. He loved spending time in the outdoors camping, hunting and fishing. He spent many hours in the Black Hills of South Dakota and surrounding areas hunting and fishing. He is survived by wife Marge, sister Jackie (Jim) Baier, brother Terry Sievers; daughters Lori Sievers Olson, Lisa Weber (Doug) and Lana Hatch (Aaron Ressler); granddaughter Jenna Olson Hanssen (Matt); grandsons Jake (Laura), Jace and Jaxon Olson; Josh (Whitney), Jesse and Jalen Weber; Dylan (Courtney), Jon (Alyssa), and Payton Hatch; and nine great- grandchildren, with one on the way. Arlyn Zee Steve Sievers We wake every day and try to be in the paths found in Psalm 1; blessed is the man who walks not here or sits there or stands over there. We try to set our minds on good things and our works on bringing forth good fruits. Psalms says we will prosper in doing this, yet as we check our mail or look at the news or anything nowadays, it's all about a never- ending spiel of lies. Some are gonna go here or there and do this or that. Two days later, nobody has done anything or is going to do anything, but send me $25 anyway. How bewildering things have gotten. The recent Aug. 13 motorcycle ride to Dearborn is a prime example. Psalms 2 says they rise up together in a rage and plot vain things. Some thought now something is really gonna happen here, but they only cussed one another and said bad words and then went back home. These vain things bewilder us greatly. Prayer & thought: Let us consider this: Even though nations rage and men take on the character of a perilous time, the Lord's timetable has not one second of time. There is still gonna be a moment when the time of the Gentiles is over. A time when the gospel will be preached one last time, a last decision made and one last baptism, and then, Matthew 24:14 says, the end will come. Not yet 56 OLD ALLIS NEWS
