Ahhhh, the sweet aroma of fresh perspective. There's something infectious and incredibly awe-inspiring about basking in the glow of a bright- eyed ball of energy that is geared up and ready to massacre the status quo. That's the vibe you get from David Groff, Jonathan Gustafson and Jameel Burkett—three young industry execs intent on elevating the E&S brand—first and foremost because the industry's livelihood is depending on it, and then there's the obvious. Their respective companies, WEBstaurant, Ace Mart and Burkett Restaurant Equipment & Supplies, are thriving from the effort. Retool outdated business models, tweak and re-tweak internal technologies and recruit new talent—that seems to be the collective mantra for success. And note, a giant step in the right direction for the sustainability of E&S. The three shared snippets during a panel discussion last March at the FEDA Convention. Not surprisingly, interest swirled, particularly concerning the buzzwords: Millennials, technology, bottom line and the cost of doing business. Here's the extended version in their own words.
