The University of Memphis' Center for Athletic Academic Services (CAAS) is dedicated to the academic and personal development of all Tiger student-athletes. Its mission is to provide support services to make certain that U of M student-athletes succeed in the classroom and obtain undergraduate degrees.
"We are here to support the student-athlete and ensure that they are as successful in the classroom as they are in competition", said Dr. Joe Luckey, the Director of Athletic Academic Services.
Even though the women's soccer program claimed four-straight C-USA Championships, the success of the student-athletes in the classroom is a tribute to the character of the squad. Winners of four-straight National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Awards, the Lady Tigers have had 14 student-athletes honored as CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District IV selections since 2004 and 11 C-USA All-Academic Team selections since 2006. In the 2010-11 season, the Lady Tigers posted the third highest grade-point average (3.6) among men's or women's soccer programs in the country and nine student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.
