Aſter making the conversion from center forward to center back at the end of last season, J.J. Greer excelled for the Tigers on the pitch this year. The junior started every contest and played every minute on the Tigers' backline. He was instrumental in helping Memphis secure six shutouts, the most since 2004.
Following his standout performance as a Junior, Greer was named Conference USA All-Conference Second Team. Following the transition to defender as a sophomore, Greer earned C-USA Player of the Week honors in his first week. Greer helped Memphis post shutouts of Alabama A&M and UAB, while scor- ing the game-winner against UAB, en route to winning the conference award.
J.J. Greer is the son of former Memphis football player and current WMC-TV Sports Director Jarvis Greer. The father-son duo was the subject of a U of M TV Tiger Tales special, titled "Opposite Sides of the Lens."
