They combined an ibuprofen cocrystal inside the porous structure of a cyclodextrin MOF (CD-MOF) and encapsulated the compound. The results of the study show that mice given CD-MOF ibuprofen took it up just as rapidly as they did ibuprofen potassium salt. The animals reached peak plasma concentration in 20 minutes, and the ibuprofen remained twice as long in the bloodstream. Researchers said that based on their findings, a similar method could also be used to deliver other APIs. The study was published in the March 2017 issue of Molecular Pharmaceutics. 7+20$6(1*,1((5,1*,1&:HVW&HQWUDO5G +RIIPDQ(VWDWHV,/7(/ :::7+20$6(1*&20 7+20$67$%/(7 35(66722/,1*
