HRO Today Forum Europe Preview Facebook app Career Inspiration allows candidates to browse jobs while also having access to career stories of current employees. It encourages them to engage in conversation with current employees to learn more about their experiences and company. PathMotion is accessible through the Facebook app and company websites. The platform lets recruiters have an edge since a positive recruitment experience leads to better talent, while letting candidates get an accurate gauge of the company to confirm that they are making the right decision. Who: Forte, Korn Ferry The Buzz: Some of their clients include Citibank, KPMG, NHS Leadership Academy, and Deloitte, among others. The Buzz: Forte received ink from the likes of leading industry analysts, including Aberdeen Group and NelsonHall. Who: viasto Who: xTune, Intunex What: Crossing borders is what recruitment needs and viasto's asynchronous video interviewing solution makes it possible. This web-based technology allows the recording of a candidate interview and the review of that interview to occur at different times. Recruiters send out the same set of questions to all of the candidates, and the candidates send their video interviews back once completed. This process grows the candidate pool and allows recruiters to do a sideby-side comparison of the candidates. viasto also improves time to hire and saves money by eliminating travel costs. What: Leveraging internal knowledge and expertise is what xTune is all about. Employees can share problems, ideas, or projects, and designate what area of expertise will be needed. xTune then lists members within the organisation and network whose capabilities match. Users can then answer the questions, contribute to the discussion, or just watch and learn. There is a social reward system that encourages participation by providing rewards for those who "inspire"—employees who provoke conversation with their challenges—and those who "help"—employees who provide answers and input with their expertise. The Buzz: viasto won the second prize for the Theta Award for Person-Job-Fit Innovation in 2013, won the Initiative Mittelstand 2012 IT Innovation Prize in the Human Resources category, and won the Innovation Slam in 2011. Who: Pando, Aspen Advisors What: Pando helps to separate the wheat from the chaff. The technology allows clients to integrate information from all pre-existing databases and groups of files that they select—from HRIS, LinkedIn, spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations, Google Analytics, calendars, and everything in between. Pando will then compile the data from the sources. The culmination of information into one system provides businesses with the ability to make comprehensively examined decisions by being able to extensively analyse the business outcomes. The Buzz: Pando was a part of the 2013 Candidate Experience Awards Council. What: Forte's career development management platform engages a productive employee and employer relationship. Users can access the app through browsers or iPads, construct a plan by prioritising development goals aligned to the needs of the employee as well as the manager, then monitor, track, and evaluate their own progress through its comprehensive and accessible technology. The Buzz: xTune's honor roll is adding up: In 2012 the Finnish eLearning Centre awarded xTune as the Best Collaboration Application, and xTune was ranked second in the Utility & Productivity Service category at the Best Mobile Services in Finland competition 2012. Who: jobsUview, Allegis Group Services What: The concept is simple but the impact is great. jobsUview is an online application that takes text-only job descriptions and turns them into something much more. With jobsUview, recruiters can create a job description with accompanying graphics to draw in more applications by reinforcing the company brand and culture. The solution gives recruiters a more effective way to share and advertise open positions and attract quality talent. The Buzz: In tests, Allegis Group Service found a 38 per cent increase in applicants with a visual job description as opposed to a text job description. AUTUMN 2013 | www.hroglobal.com [15]
