Rusty Hollingsworth '86, was named an Under Armour Athletic Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) for 2010-11. Hollingsworth, who has served as AD at Campbellsville University since 2001, earned the honor for the NAIA Southeast region. Under his leadership in 2010-11, CU won six conference championships, claiming the Mid-South Conference President's Cup. The program was also recognized as a Five Star Champions of Character program by the NAIA in 2010. During his CU tenure, he has helped grow the athletic department in number of student-athletes, coaches and teams. He has served as chair for NAIA Region XI, and currently serves on the NAIA Rules and Rating committee. Hollingsworth's achievements helped him earn the Mid- South Conference AD of the Year honors in 2004 and 2010. '75 Charles S. Baker was named executive direc- tor of Bethel Bible Village in Hixon. '76 Deborah (Brunson) Parks received levels I and II Orff Certification by the American Orff Schulwerk Association. Orff Schulwerk is a method used to teach and learn music by utilizing a child's affinity to sing, chant, clap and dance. Deborah is a music specialist at Ocean Breeze Elementary in Indian Harbor Beach, Fla. '77 Lynda (Cook) Rizzardi was published in the The Complete Guide to Bookkeeping for Fun and Profit by Cindy Belknap. '77 Steve A. Davidson is director of the doctoral program in education and assistant professor of leadership and organizational studies for Lincoln Memorial University's, Carter and Moyers School of Education, Knoxville. '78 Susan (Davidson) Stone is director of development at Lake Prince Woods retirement community in Suffolk, Va. '79 Angela English serves as a member of the Texas Governor's Committee for People with Disabilities. She was appointed by U.S. Depart- ment of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano to the local, state, tribal, and federal Preparedness Task Force—a council 34 JOURNEY fall 2011 1980s '81 Robert Campbell recently retired as a colonel from the Air Force aſter 22 years of service. He and Cindy (Edwards) '79 live in Johnson City. '84 Angela Lamon earned the EdS in curriculum and instruction and an urban specialist certificate from the University of Tennessee. '84 Rebecca (Mullins) Starnes graduated with a MEd in curriculum and instruction technology from Grand Canyon University and was inducted into the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. '85 Anna (Allred) Haney is coordinator for aca- demic student support, pre-nursing at Pellissippi State Community College. '87 Karla (West) Fultz was named Science Teacher of 2010 for grades 5-8 by the Tennessee Science Teachers Association. '88 Andrew D. Doehring completed the Army War College Department of Distance Education course, earning the Army War College Gradua- tion Certificate and the Master of Strategic Studies degree in July. '89 Robert "Rob" Black, Jr. was named head football coach at Knoxville's Fulton High School. 1990s '90 Cathy E. Freytag was promoted to associ- ate dean of education and physical education at Haughton College in Houghton, N.Y. '92 Carrie (Owen) McConkey is a regional advancement officer for Maryville College. '93 Rhonda (Tatum) Ladd completed a PhD in counselor education and supervision this year from Regent University. '95 Jennifer (Smith) Eisenhower is the 2011 Citizenship Award recipient for Cocke County. '98 Michael J. Ray is a practicing anesthesiologist in Scottsdale, Ariz. '99 Michelle Estes is a physician with Mountain States Medical Group Pediatrics in Kingsport. of experts charged with assessing the state of the nation's disaster preparedness and making recommendations on ways to build resiliency in communities across America. 2000s '00 Christy (McInturff) Huret is an owner of the law firm of Johnson City's McInturff & McInturff PLLC, where she practices in the areas of real estate, estate planning and probate. '00 Ashley M. Andrews is the manager of Green- ville Office Operations and Concierge Services for Coldwell Banker Caine in Greenville, S.C. '03 Tara (Bridges) Ross earned the Master of Science degree from Winthrop University in December 2010. '03 William "Rickey" Luttrell, III was promoted to principal at Rodefer Moss & Co. PLLC, a three-state accounting firm headquartered in Knoxville. '03 Byron Booker was named one of three Teachers of the Year. Byron teaches English as a second language at Knoxville's Central High School. '03 Jill Parrott graduated with a PhD in English from the University of Georgia in December 2010. '04 Rick Brackney teaches special education and coaches football and tennis at Spring Hill High School in Columbia. He received his SPED certification in 2009. '05 LouAnna (Engle) Tolliver graduated from Indiana University with her MS in higher education and student affairs in May 2011. She accepted a position at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis as the joint academic advisor between the School of Engineering & Technology and University College. '07 Jessika Pettit graduated magna cum laude with an MS from Simmons College in Boston, Mass. She currently serves as branch manager of South Boston, Virginia Public Library. '07 Blake A. Moore graduated from Wake Forest University's School of Medicine in May. '08 Jonathan L. Trevor received his MDiv from George W. Truett Seminary at Baylor University in May. '10 Summer Elliott is an AmeriCorps VISTA Leader for the Tennessee Campus Compact. VISTA has higher education projects with 29 institutions across the state.
