Gillespie Centre, Clare College, Cambridge, UK For information: www.aitoxicology.org Previewing the Association of Inhalation Toxicologists' Annual Conference The Association of Inhalation Toxi- cologists will hold their annual con- ference entitled "Looking in to the L u n g : E v a l u a t i n g T o x i c i t y o f Inhaled Therapeutics," October 13- 15, 2015 at The Gillespie Centre, Clare College, Cambridge UK. Special sessions The conference will include multi- ple keynote speakers and several spe- cial sessions and events: • Respiratory measures in the clinic and pre-clinically; Predictivity and translation: A half-day session on day two will review respiratory measures routinely taken in the clinic and how they are used, and compare them to pre-clinical data in inhaled drug development pro grams. Questions to be considered include: "How can this help more successfully predict adverse effects in later stage clinical develop ment?" and "Should we be doing more?" Case studies will be pre- sented and a panel discussion will aim to establish an AIT-endorsed position or recommendation that could be published in conjunction with the Society of Safety Pharma- cology. • e-Cigarettes: This session on day three will explore current know- ledge about products, challenges faced by companies registering products and the emerging regula- tory guidance surrounding this rapidly growing field. • NC3Rs/CRACK IT: Inhalation translation challenge 14 update: An update on the status of the pro- ject, which is pursuing approaches to the challenges associated with developing inhaled drugs, focusing on non-invasive, longitudinal techniques for monitoring lung injury. A tour of GSK The conference will include a tour of the GSK manufacturing site. This event has limited availability.
