Medicon Valley, Lund, Sweden For information: http://symposium.mvic.se Previews of the Medicon Valley Inhalation Symposium and Workshop New symposium session "Future Opportunities of Inhala- tion" is the theme of the 4th Medicon Valley Inhalation Symposium. The one-and-a-half-day program will take place October 7-8, 2015 at Medicon Village, in Lund, Sweden. This year, a new session will be held on early development and inhaled biologics. These topics are designed to complement sessions on product development for both generic and originator products. Presentations will be made by representatives from large and small companies. Symposium topics Topics for the conference will in- clude: • New Businesses: antibiotic resis- tance; treatment of lung fibrosis • PK/PD: lung receptor occupancy measurements; air liquid interface exposure • Dissolution: clinical performance; in vitro dissolution • Filling and Manufacturing: low dosage inhalation powders; spray dried engineered particles • Devices: generic market devices; design • Devices and Human Factors: FeNO in measuring adherence; facemasks for VHCs, particle size and excipient levels • Generic Strategies: making generics better; products in Turkey • Performance Testing and New Opportunities: abbreviated impac- tor measurements; dispersion, deag- glomeration and aerosolization; new molecules, formulations and devices Symposium social events The symposium will include lun- cheons, receptions and a dinner. The symposium will close in time for par- ticipants to attend the Medicon Val- ley Inhalation Symposium (MVIS) Workshop. The MVIS Workshop The workshop "Introduction to Inhalation Product Development" is designed for those new to inhalation pharmaceuticals. It will cover basics plus information about key activities and challenges in developing an inhalation product. The one-and- one-half-day workshop will last from the afternoon of October 8 to the afternoon October 9 at Medicon Vil- lage in Lund, Sweden.
