Associate Dean Position The Katz Graduate School of Business and College of Business Administration at the University of Pittsburgh seeks an energetic leader to serve as Associate Dean of the College of Business Administration (CBA) beginning in Fall 2013. The Associate Dean is responsible for managing college operations and overseeing initiatives that support and enhance the undergraduate business experience at the University of Pittsburgh, one of the strongest public research universities in the world. The school seeks a proven leader and dynamic visionary to leverage the college's momentum and build CBA's reputation through strong performance. CBA is the undergraduate division of the Katz Graduate School of Business and enrolls 2,000 undergraduates each year. The school has an exceptional community of faculty who collaborate within the University and across the world. The University of Pittsburgh is situated in Oakland, a thriving urban neighborhood of educational and medical facilities just outside of downtown Pittsburgh, a city known for its reinvention and as one of the most livable cities in the United States. The Associate Dean reports to the Dean of the Katz School and CBA and works collaboratively with the Dean, other Associate Deans and senior administrative management to develop and implement strategic plans, programs and policies to strengthen the college and maintain AACSB accreditation. The Associate Dean of CBA will serve as a member of the Dean's senior management team and will use innovation to: • Provide leadership and management for college programs including the Tafel Center for Student Success, a physical and cultural combination of admissions, career services, student records, alumni networking, and study abroad intended to drive positive student outcomes. • Develop, review and assess academic plans, curriculum, programs, course schedules and budgets within the college. • Communicate with undergraduate business students in a professional and collaborative manner. • Recruit, select, supervise and evaluate staff for the CBA Office of the Dean and the other units which report to the Associate Dean. • Maintain close contact with business, industry and advisory boards in an effort to keep curriculum current and attract needed resources to the college. Required Qualifications • Doctoral degree in business, education or a related field • Teaching experience at the college level • Demonstrated commitment to student success and to enhancing teaching and learning • Experience working with and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population • Creative thinker and problem solver • Experience in supervising staff in daily college operations, budget management and program coordination • Strong communication skills Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience in academic administration • Demonstrated ability to adapt and respond quickly to the changing needs of the organization and its internal and external constituents • Excellent organizational skills • Takes initiative in seeing projects through to completion • Knowledge and experience in curriculum development and program review Please send statement of interest and resume/curriculum vitae to: Dr. J.
