July 2020 / 13 Spain to produce TACOIL and is partnering with other companies to further develop the technology and expand the use of chemical recycling technology. MARKETS UPDATE Global sand demand to shift as sand reserves diminish The global demand for sand is expected to show 1.2 percent growth per year through 2023, according to the report Global Construction Aggregates by The Freedonia Group, an international industrial research company. The sand market is expected to grow to just under 10 billion metric tons, which is well below the global average. Sand demand is expected used at a cracker site to produce virgin plastic for medical products, food packaging, lightweight auto- motive parts, and pipes for water transportation. The trial material is being supplied to various custom- ers and brands to demonstrate the plastic's capabilities. According to the companies, advanced recycling makes it possible to produce identical products from recycled material that previously could only be made with virgin plastic. The companies hope that the collaboration will create a truly cir- cular economy solution by replacing the use of virgin raw material with the recycled plastic waste material that they can now use. Ineos is a multinational chem- ical company. Plastic Energy operates two commercial plants in ing it both cost-effective and easy to use. NanoAL is currently in the process of commercializing the Addalloy family of alloys, which are suitable for various purposes, including structural components, ultrastrong lightweighting applica- tions, and thermal management. NanoAL, Boston, MA, develops new aluminum alloys specifically for metal additive manufacturing. Feed mill in Wisconsin total loss after fire; no one injured Boyd Feed and Supply in Boyd, WI, experienced a fire in April. The feed mill was a total loss after eight different fire departments battled the fire. No one was in the mill at the time of the fire, but Fire Chief Ron Patten indicated that the fire started in the middle of building. There was a feed truck nearby, but it isn't known if that vehicle contributed to the fire. The feed mill was built in 1902 with Jerry Gully taking ownership since 1977. According to authorities, the fire is still under investigation. Ineos, Plastic Energy plan facility for advanced recycling Ineos and Plastic Energy, both headquartered in London, England, have announced a collaboration to construct a new plant for convert- ing plastic waste into raw materials to create new plastic. The new facil- ity's production is planned for the end of 2023. Ineos and Plastic Energy have done trials at Ineos's cracker site in Köln, Germany, to test the advanced recycling process developed by Plastic Energy. The patented tech- nology is called Thermal Anaerobic Conversion (TAC), which trans- forms plastic waste into TACOIL.
