Upon her 2019 retirement, Congressman Jimmy Panetta entered in the Congressional Record a statement about Lynch's contributions "creating a greater equity in funding for the arts throughout the county, developing award-win- ning programs and providing unifying leader- ship in the creative sector." The Monterey County Board of Supervisors named Lynch the Outstanding Woman of Monterey County in 2013 for her role in expanding regional arts opportunities. Lynch, a Boston native, spent a year in Turkey as a Fulbright Scholar after graduating from MIIS. The Monterey Peninsula resident currently provides strategic support to nonprofit leaders through her consulting firm, Your Development Solutions. Twenty years after Tiger Woods came back to win the 2000 Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the five-time Masters champion is redesigning the Peter Hay golf course in Pebble Beach. The 670-yard short course by Woods' TGR design firm will feature a 20,000 square-foot putting facility and holes ranging from 47 to 106 yards in length—including one hole that replicates the legendary par-3 seventh hole of the Pebble Beach Golf Links. Four Central California companies took first- place honors in this year's Startup Challenge Monterey Bay, a competition organized by the Institute for Innovation and Economic Development (iiED). iiED is housed at the California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) College of Business. Nece's Gluten-Free Bistro & Pantry, a compa- ny that sells baked goods at Monterey Peninsula farmers markets, topped the Main Street divi- sion. We Hike, Inc., which connects Monterey County youth to outdoor experiences, won in the Social Venture category. Renewable energy startup infiniRel earned a nod in the Venture division, and the waste-tracking app Howe Neat took top Student Division honors. More than 100 companies entered this year's competition. Participants also took part in online pitch workshops, branding sessions and a COVID-19 financial assistance webinar. Supported by CSUMB representatives and vol- unteers from the local business community, the iiED has worked with 815 startups and more than 2,000 aspiring entrepreneurs.
