24 July 2015 Tablets & Capsules A survey of what's available tooling Tooling Company provides TSM, Euronorm (EU), and machine- specific tooling, as well as multi-tip and micro-tip (as small as 1.5 millimeters) punches. Tolerances and clearances are precise, and company's lined dies accept greater loading than standard dies and resist abrasive wear. Detailed metallurgical analyses are available on request. ACG North America, South Plainfield, NJ. Tel. 908 757 3425 www.acg-northamerica.com Tablet tooling Company produces standard and custom tablet compression tooling using advanced steels and high-performance coatings to maximize wear-resistance, hardness, and toughness and to minimize picking, sticking, capping, and lamination. Special- ties include inserted-tip, multi-tip, and rotating-head tooling. Standard TSM tooling is kept in stock for quick delivery. All tooling is manufactured at company's 350,000-square-foot facility. AEM division of Wilson Tool International, White Bear Lake, MN. Material compositions are tailored to specific applications and range from PharmaGrade standard steel—an electroslag remelting-grade material suitable for 60 percent of jobs—to tungsten carbide (i.e., sintered micro-grained tung- sten carbide cemented with cobalt) that has high compressive strength. PharmaCote treatments and coatings augment fatigue resistance, abrasive and adhesive wear resistance, hardness, toughness, compressive strength, and corrosion resistance.
