Handheld optical reader
Model 4100 handheld optical reader authenticates tablets,
capsules, and other items that bear company's silicone dioxide
microtags, which serve as "edible barcodes." Portable unit
uses cloud-connected, solid-state imaging and processing
engine that broadens range of applications for scanning and
authenticating solid dosage forms, packages, and other com-
ponents to detect and deter counterfeiting.

Compaction analyzer
PCA-500D powder compaction analyzer combines with
company's tablet tensile analyzer to provide complete in-die
and out-of-die tablet analysis during early development.
Instruments help guide formulation and process strategies
independent of expensive and difficult-to-access compaction
simulators. Compaction analyzer—for measuring detach-
ment force—compresses at 3 millimeters per second with 90-
millisecond dwell time. Tensile analyzer's sensitive load cell
measures tensile fracture stress and features bidirectional bal-
ance and digital micrometer, all linked by software that cal-
culates and plots compressibility, compactibility, and
tabletability profiles.
