High-containment tray dryer CakeStand vacuum tray dryer processes material by kilogram or at production scale. Unit is easy to clean because it has no hidden pockets or gaps, uses heating plates suspended from roof, and has open floor. Configuration discourages over- reach; easy-to-handle trays and access from front and back minimize spills. Direct heating is accurate to ±1ºC and ensures uniformity. Photo shows dryer inside isolator that protects personnel to OELS as low as 10 nanograms per cubic meter. Isolator can also house mills, granulators, and tablet presses to prevent solvent or dust explosions and to protect workers. Powder Systems, Boise, ID. Centri-Sifter uses helical paddles to drive material through its screen con- tinuously to create pellets at high rates. Pellets then discharge into spheroidizer, where vibration produces high-strength, uniform, spherical particles; adjustable vibration allows you to vary size, uniformity, and density. Circular vibratory fluid- bed dryer conveys particles on perforated screen within rising column of heated air on first-in, first-out basis. Dry particles then pass through Vibroscreen to remove overs and dust. Equipment meets 3A, FDA, BISSC, and other sanitary stan- dards. Systems are available to handle small or large volumes. Company also offers stand-alone units. Kason, Millburn, NJ. Granulation equipment includes top-spray and rotor tangential-spray fluid-bed processors; top- and bottom-drive high-shear wet granula- tors; and roller compactors. Lab-scale equipment conserves material during feasibility studies; pilot-scale and production equipment is engineered to ease scale-up. Company offers engineering and system design, process development and testing lab, technical field service, and validation programs.
