Garth Clark looks at the changing landscape with craft diminishing in importance, design in ascendency, and art remaining a tough sell. The lecture explores the marketplace for the field in the past and its challenges today. Garth Clark is an art dealer, active speaker, historian and writer. He has written, edited and contributed fifty+ books and authored over two hundred essays and articles. For his pioneering work on modern and contemporary ceramics he has received numerous honors, lifetime achievement awards, and in 2004 received the College Art Association's Mather Award. He has curated significant museum exhibitions worldwide. Since 1979 he has served as the founding director of the non-profit group, Ceramic Arts Foundation, a publisher and organizer of international conferences on history and scholarship. Save the Date!
