28 May 2017 Tablets & Capsules Level switches G series level switches use vibrating probes that mount on bins through 3/4-inch half-coupling to indicate when powder reaches or falls below switch location. GJ switch (left) detects low-bulk-density solids (10 to 15 pounds per cubic foot) that tend to pack or bridge. GS switch (middle) senses fine, low- bulk-density powders (5 to 10 pounds per cubic foot) such as fumed silica. GSS switch (right) is suitable for detecting extremely lightweight bulk solids, those less than 5 pounds per cubic foot, such as polymers. All level switches are approved for Class I, Group D; Class II, Groups E, F, and G; and Class III installations. They require no adjustments, have no moving parts, and are virtually wear-free. It operates by loss-in-weight or gain-in-weight. Applications include loading mixers, weighing raw materials, unloading small batches from bags, weighing stirrer vessels, and metered conveying and weigh- ing. You specify amount of material to convey via touch-screen. You can also program system to pick up materials from numerous sending stations according to product recipe. VS and PPC conveyors are easy to access and clean and move material without segregation, damage, or abrasion. When used with level- controlled buffer hopper, conveyors can transfer as little as 10 pounds per hour to as much as 6 tons per hour. Company also offers bulk bag unloaders, hoists, de-lumpers, and dust collectors. Volkmann, Bristol, PA. Interlocked for safety, powered pinch bars clamp bag neck for safe release of neck ties. When API potency requires, all unloading activity—releasing neck ties, cutting open sealed liners, and feeding them through clamp ring and over discharge spout—takes place in negative-pres- sure enclosure connected to HEPA filtration system. Liner clamps operate manually or pneumatically. Spiroflow Systems, Monroe, NC. Tel. 704 246 0900 www.spiroflowsystems.com
