ZOO NEWS M EM B ER MAGA ZIN E 19 0 1 VOLU M E 38 MARCH 20 18 At the start of January, Zoos Victoria partnered with the Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades Big Bash League teams at the MCG to try and break the world record for most number of people simultaneously blowing bubbles. We attempted to break this record in order to raise awareness of why we should blow bubbles, not balloons when outdoors. It was a big task with thousands of environmentally-friendly bottles of bubbles (all made from 100% recyclable plastic with the foil lids removed) handed out to people at the game. While we didn't break West Ham Football Club's current record of 23,680 people, we did have more than 11,000 people filling the MCG with tiny bubbles – an absolutely magical sight!
