Orange-bellied Parrot breeding season
is off to an excellent start with 36 chicks
fledged from the nest at Healesville
Sanctuary – making it one of our best
breeding seasons yet!
Melbourne Zoo welcomed a brand new
Tasmanian Devil named Lloyd. The handsome
five-year-old moved from Dubbo Zoo into his
new home, part of Carnivores' Trail.
We have a brand new female Przewalski
Horse named Saikhan at
Werribee Open Range Zoo.
The gorgeous Koala joey finally has a name:
Koreen, which is Wurundjeri for thunder. The
cute furball is now visible, cuddling with mum
Emily most days at Healesville Sanctuary.
It's been a star-studded summer with
Rafael Nadal, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee
Furness, Kevin Pietersen and Venus Williams
visiting our zoos!
