The 10 preconference tutorials are de- signed to quickly bring newcomers up to speed on state-of-the-art technology and to refresh what experienced profes- sionals already know. The 90-minute tutorials will cover rheology, easy-to- clean coatings, anticorrosive coatings, waterborne high-performance coatings, radiation curing, polyurethanes, func- tional films, and more. The tutorials will be offered on Monday, April 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The keynote presentation, "Innovation in the Tech Era: Fulfilling the Color Needs of End-users in a World of Fast Fashion and Revolving Apps," will be presented by Dr. Barry Snyder, senior vice president and chief technology of- ficer at Axalta Coating Systems. The presentation will be given on Monday, April 9, at 12:30 p.m. Exhibition With more than 580 suppliers display- ing their products and services, the American Coatings SHOW is the per- fect opportunity to see the latest tech- nologies in the industry and network with other coating professionals. Mattiello Lecture and Award was designed to rec- ognize an individual who has made out- standing contributions to science, tech- nology, and engineering related to the coatings industry. The 2018 Mattiello Lecture, "Rheological and Colloidal As- pects of Latex-Associative Thickener Formulations: Overcoming the Re- maining Challenges," will be given by Dr. Ray Fernando, professor at Califor- nia Polytechnic State University. The prestigious American Coatings AWARD will be bestowed upon the most outstanding technical presenta- tion at the American Coatings CON- FERENCE. Selected and sponsored by the ACA, the winner is presented with a $2,500 cash award along with a sculp- ture. The 2018 winner will be presented at the plenary program. After the tremendous success of the 2016 run, which had more than 300 par- ticipants, every exhibitor and at- tendee is encouraged to participate this year.
