HRO Today Forum APAC Ericsson's Major Payoff How Talent2 conquered the tech company's complex payroll needs. By Debbie Bolla Ericsson's Mark Howes breaks down the company's approach to payroll outsourcing. Technology provider Ericsson has an impressive reach: It's the fifth largest software supplier in the world. In fact, 40 per cent of the world's mobile traffic passes through an Ericsson network. So the company was looking for an outsourcing provider with an equally impressive reach to manage its payroll processing for 12 countries across Southeast Asia (everything except India, China, and Japan). Mark Howes, head of HR for Ericsson across Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji, described the organisation's journey with Talent2 at the recent HRO Today Forum APAC in Singapore this past May. [24] HRO TODAY GLOBAL | SUMMER 2013 Talent2's Mary Sue Rogers offers her view of the engagement. "All of those things we do around talent management and acquisition, they mean nothing if you can't pay someone," said Howes. "It's the most critical thing that we do have." Focusing on company strategy and process alignment across 12 countries and 4,500 employees was a key factor driving the engagement. "We have a set platform [HRMS] that is consistent in every country around the globe," noted Howes. "The way that we maintain employee details and data in that system is exactly the same in every country that you go to. That was important thinking around our organisation."
