Repeat Conference USA Champions had been accomplished just three times prior to the Lady Tigers earning their second-straight championship in 2008. A four goal effort against East Carolina in the finals of the 2008 C-USA Tournament helped Memphis earn back-to-back championships.
Four Lady Tigers were named to the C-USA All-Tournament team. Laura Laufenberg earned C-USA Offensive MVP of the Tournament for her two game-winning goals against UAB in the opening round and in the finals over East Carolina. Kelsey Bakker earned C-USA Defensive MVP of the Tournament. Strnadova who scored the third goal in the championship game and Brittany Hance also earned 2008 C-USA All-Tournament Team honors.
