Sourced predominantly from vine- yards in the southern Russian River Valley, this wine displays beautiful floral/lily aromas, strong Fuji apple/melon aromatic notes and a youthful palate with a bright acidic structure. 635 cases. Gehricke 2013 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ($45) Lighter in hue, this medium- bodied Pinot Noir has lots of that West Side Pinot character, ripe plums, balsamic, ripe red currants with underlying cardamom, leather and smoke notes. Not a big, over ripe style, more of a balanced style with bright cherry and raspberry fruit on the palate and a finish that speaks to the benefit of further aging. 660 cases. Gehricke 2013 Sonoma Carneros Pinot Noir ($39) Still the leader of the pack, in cases produced and in style. Source primarily from the Martin Vineyard, this Pinot is darker and more focused now than the Russian River, with that lovely Carneros dark cherry fruit character. Just enough oak and richness to appeal to any Pinot Noir lover, this wine also acknowledges the acidity and minerality that is prized by Pinot Noir fanatics. 1,100 cases. Gehricke 2013 Sonoma Valley Zinfandel ($30) Bottled in August, this is the debut of Zinfandel in the Gehricke port - folio. Sourced from vineyards very close to Gehricke Road, this is a medium-full body, riper style of Zinfandel that shows notes of prune, ripe blueberry and boysenberry complemented by a distinct palate density from its 18 months in predominantly American oak. The long finish of this wine makes it well built for positive bottle development. 800 cases. The GEHRICKE Portfolio All prices are suggested retail. Pinot Noir brought immediate attention to the brand. The winemaker, brother-in-law Kendrick Coakley, further solidified the family owned winery concept that embodies the Gehricke philosophy. Kendrick has since moved on to focus on the burgeoning success of August's sister Mia's Kitchen project. New winemaker Alex Beloz has gracefully assumed the day -to-day winemaking role. His background with noted winemakers like Steve MacRostie and a long experience with Sonoma County vineyards give Gehricke the perfect opportunity to grow and still maintain quality. Focusing on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel, Gehricke crushed about 100 tons of fruit in 2014 and long-term plans include single-vineyard wines. Realizing the legacy of his grand - father's name was just the sort of motivation that young August has taken full advantage of and he's not done yet. *The Other Guys, Inc. recently announced a transition to a new name, 3 Badge Beverage Corporation, effective January 1, 2016. The new name also includes the company's spirits division, 35 Maple Street Spirits. Under 3 Badge Beverage Corporation, the company's wine division will become 3 Badge Enology (no longer The Other Guys, Inc.) and the spirits division will become 3 Badge Mixology (no longer 35 Maple Street Spirits). New Gehricke winemaker Alex Beloz.
