36 May 2019 Tablets & Capsules Powder feeder Microfeeder low-rate powder feeder provides feed rates of 0.02 to 27 cubic decimeters per hour and features inter- changeable 12- and 16-millimeter twin- and single-screw feeding modules. Options include a split butterfly valve for contained refill of the feeder during continuous and batch operations and an integrated impactor to prevent diffi- cult-flowing APIs from bridging within the hopper without affecting feeder accuracy. Unit is ideal for feeding highly toxic APIs to pharmaceutical or chemical processes that require a high degree of second-to-second accuracy. Unit uses two main filter car- tridges designed to handle air volumes from 590 to 1,765 cubic feet per minute. Cleanable filter system allows manufac- turers to run continuous production processes and avoid fre- quent, expensive filter replacements. Dust collector cleans filters one at a time in four segments so that they are continu- ally cleaned without interrupting airflow. Primary filters remove the majority of collected dust, prolonging the service life of the second-stage HEPA filter that captures the finest, most hazardous dust particles and acts as a flame and contam- ination barrier. Dust collector features a pressure shock resis- tant housing that maintains its integrity during an explosion event, meeting NFPA and ATEX standards for explosion protection. Unit can safely contain an explosion without the need for additional safety devices and can be safely installed indoors close to the processing area. Bag-in/bag-out system protects workers and prevents cross-contamination by pro- viding full dust containment to ensure safe changeover during primary filter, HEPA filter, and dust discharge stages.
