March 2020 / 25 SPECIAL SECTION PBE SPECIAL SECTION Bin Level Indicators This product summary is designed to help you find useful information on a variety of bin level indicators. The information reported here is furnished by the manufacturers; no product endorsement is intended. Point Level Indicator TrueCap Model MK-2 RF capacitance point level indicator provides dependable level sensing in various material storage applications for powders, bulk solids, and slurries. Indicator can be top- or side-mounted on vessels for various applications. Indicator has push-button calibration, sensitivity selection, and self-test, as well as built-in automatic temperature compensation. Indicator features include a driven-shield design on the probe to prevent material buildup, a settable time delay function, external viewable LED status indicator, and no moving parts for reduced wear. Monitor Technologies, Elburn, IL 800-601-6165 www.monitortech.com Rotary Level Indicator Model CR Roto-Level rotary level indicator has high sensitivity to handle light, fluffy materials as well as normal bulk density materials, such as chemicals, plastics, fertilizers, and aggregates. Unit functions as a high- or low-level indicator to monitor material overflow, empty bins, plugged chute conditions, jammed conveyors, baghouse dust levels, material spill- age, or damaged equipment. Unit's paddle wheel rotates continuously in the absence of material and transfers its torque to one or more micro- switches (which can signal other equipment or an audible or visual alarm) when it meets resistance from accumulated material within the bin. Conveyor Components, Croswell, MI 800-233-3233 www.conveyorcompontents.com Continuous Level Sensor SmartBob continuous level sensor simplifies powder and solids inventory management. Sensor can measure submersed solids, high and super- high temperature materials, and material in large-diameter vessels using a spike, cone, bottle, or sphere probe. Sensor is offered with a Nylon- or Teflon-jacketed cable with FDA-approval or a bare cable for material temperatures up to 1000°F. Sensor outputs collected material level data directly to a PLC and has wireless options for two-way communication between sensors mounted on the tops of silos and the control source on the ground or in a control room.
