March 2020 / 57 Inline rotary continuous mixer suitable for high- volume applications Model RCM 36X9SS rotary contin- uous mixer blends dry bulk solids with or without liquid additions, inline at low cost over long produc- tion runs. Mixer provides dust-free mixing of bulk materials in large volumes with little or no degrada- tion. Mixer has a stationary inlet, a stationary outlet, a rotating drum with smooth interior surfaces, and proprietary mixing flights that impart a gentle tumbling action, distributing particles with each drum rotation without imparting shear or energy into the material. Mixer has no internal moving parts and low power requirements, using a 3-horsepower electric motor to rotate the drum at 8 to 10 rpm. Mixer discharge end has a weir to create a buildup of blended material that overflows and discharges the mixer at rates determined by the residence volume in the mixer cyl- inder and the material inflow rate. Munson Machinery, Utica, NY 800-944-6644 www.munsonmachinery.com Pharmaceutical transfer bin comes in high-polish finish for cleanability, validation Pharmaceutical transfer bin has a nominal 300-liter capacity and rotates 180 degrees to facilitate material loading and unloading through a butterfly, rotary, iris, or high-containment valve. Bin is available in custom configurations from 5 to 3,000 liters. Bin's interior and material contact surfaces have a high-polish finish for cleanabil- ity and validation required in pharmaceutical applications. Bin is easily handled with a forklift, a pallet jack, a walkable stacker, or can be mounted on casters. Bin can be rated for pressure or vacuum and is offered with internal inten- sifier bars for materials requiring high shear. Bin can be tested with material at the supplier's in-house testing lab to optimize bin configu- ration to assure easy discharge and prevent material segregation. Custom Powder Systems, Springfield, MO 417-868-8002 www.custom-powder.com Mixer features improved lift, seal designs Model PVM-1500 multi-shaft mixer has an improved dual-post hydrau- lic lift and seal design for its agita- tors. Mixer's lifting design is a dou- ble-acting, fully hydraulic cylinder operating at a much higher pressure, allowing for a smaller cylinder and significantly less oil for operation. Mixer's seal arrangement allows for seal removal without remov- ing the agitator shafts, removal of the mixer from the tank, or tank entry to access the seal. Mixer has a 1,500-gallon capacity and three independently driven agitators: a screw auger, a high-speed disperser, and a three-wing anchor agitator. Mixer's changeable vessel has sides and bottom that are insulated and jacketed for up to 50 psig. Mixer is vacuum-rated for continuous oper- ation and has rugged touch screen controls showing digital readouts for speed, cycle time, vacuum level, and batch temperature.
