Teach Vocabulary, continued Repeat for the words  mediodía  and  tarde , using the following Elaboration Prompts: Section 2 Big Idea Card (back) Where's the Sun? & & Earth Science Day and Night Morning, Noon, Evening It is morning, where's the sun? •Point to the second drawing on the card. Say:  Mediodía  es la hora en la mitad del día. Muchas personas almuerzan alrededor del  mediodía . Ask: ¿Dónde está el Sol a  mediodía ? (It is high in the sky.) •Point to the third drawing. Say: La tarde es la hora al final del día. Es antes de que anochezca. Ask: ¿Dónde ven el Sol en la  tarde ? (It is low in the sky.) It is morning, where's the sun? It is morning, where's the sun? Display this card near a Word Wall or in the Science Center so that students can practice these words and make them part of their everyday language. Refer students to the word list when they are reading, writing, or engaging in a science activity. Sing with Me Download and play the recorded song once. Play it a second time and encourage students to sing along. After singing, have students look at the first circled photo to answer the question in the last line of the song.
