Have students think about the sky. Ask: ¿Qué
objetos se pueden ver en el cielo? (the sun,
clouds, birds, planes, sometimes the moon) Explain
that some things in the sky, such as birds or planes,
come back down to the ground. Tell students that
in this activity, they will observe things that stay in
the sky during the day and/or during the night. Then
they will tell how the day sky and the night sky are
alike and different.

• Use a hole punch to create circles of white or yellow paper for
students to use as stars.
• Check your local weather report to find out when the moon
might be visible during the day. The United States Naval
Observatory also provides moonrise and moonset times.
The moon's visibility varies throughout the month.
