Teach, continued Science Academic Vocabulary: Tierra •Say the word Tierra . Have a student point to the word in the text and in the label next to the photo on page 17. •Explain that the photo shows Tierra as viewed from space, which is very high above the sky. Only astronauts have seen Tierra like this. Ask: ¿Cómo se ve la Tierra desde el espacio? (Possible answer: Earth looks big and round and mostly blue and white.) Observe and Describe the Sun in the Sky •Tell students never to look at the sun directly. Say: El Sol es muy brillante. Si lo miramos directamente podemos hacernos daño en los ojos. Explain that it is safe to look at pictures of the sun. •Have students observe the photo of the sun and the sky on pages 16 –17. Ask: ¿Cómo se ve el Sol en esta foto?
