s.c.o.r.e. tactics 2011 MEMPHIS WOMEN’S TENNIS EXPERIENCE | 13 S.C.O.R.E is an acronym, created by Heath Waters and ACE System in Atlanta, designed to teach a player how to ideally construct a point. “S” stands for strike first—a player should hit each serve and return mentally and physically prepared to attack the next ball. “C” stands for consistency from the baseline when an opponent hits a respectable ball back. “O” stands for opening the court with angles or down-the-line shots. “R” stands for taking the ball on the rise. Finally, “E” stands for ending the point at the net. At the end of this level a player now has a clearer purpose to each shot they hit and every point they play.
